Cassis Films is a Tel-Aviv based production house, founded in 2011 by actress Yael Abecassis and producer Hillel Roseman.The company produces feature films & documentaries with a focus on female and social issues.

Cassis Films has completed 4 productions thus far; ‘Kaparot Sababa C'est Tout’, ‘Matat’, ‘A Letter from the Past’ and ‘Aya’ - their debut film, which won the Israeli Academy Award in 2013 for Best Short Film, and is nominated for Best Live Action Short Film at the 2015 Academy Awards.




Actress and producer Yael Abecassis is one of Israel’s leading actresses. Throughout her career she collaborated with top Israeli and international film directors, including: Amos Gitai, Gideon Raf, Olivier Panchot, Radu Mihaileanu , Salvatore Mereu, Stéphane Giusti, Eran Riklis and Ronit and Shlomi Elkabetz.

She has since then starred in some of Israel’s most renowned films and TV Series, including “Kadosh”, “Alila”, “Live and Become” (Va, Vis et Deviens) and the acclaimed drama series “Hatufim” (English title: “Prisoners of War”) which served as the basis for Showtime’s Emmy Award winner “Homeland”.

In 2011 Yael Abecassis founded Cassis Films together with Hillel Roseman.

Yael is also the founder of “Women’s Spirit”, a non-profit organization that supports victims of violence, and offers them tools to attain financial independence.



Hillel Roseman started his career in the Israeli film industry in 1994, first as a truck driver, and then as a location manager in film and commercial productions. In 1997 he studied cinema at the prestigious ’Sam Spiegel’ Film School in Jerusalem and graduated with honors in 2001. In the ten years prior to the establishment of "Cassis films" Hillel worked mainly as a line producer in feature films such as “Campfire”, “Good Morning Mr. Fidelman”, “The Slut”, “The Bubble” and “Little Heroes”. He also worked as a line producer on several TV series including; “In Treatment”, “Papadizi”, “The Naked Truth” and "Sesame Street". 

In 2011 he founded Cassis Films together with Yael Abecassis.



Dorin Kfir began her career in the Israeli film industry in 1988 as a production coordinator, assistant director and producer. She has extensive experience in int'l film production.
In 2012 Dorin joined Cassis Films as a production manager. 
Dorin’s blood type is: B-positive and her sunny disposition is one of her greatest assets.
